Our lawful bases

The lawful basis we rely on depends on why we are using your information.

This may include processing that is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract with you, or to comply with legal obligations such as maintaining financial and tax records.

We may also rely on legitimate interests where reasonably necessary to operate and administer Working Copy Studio, communicate with business contacts, protect the studio, and manage our professional relationships, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Sharing your information

We do not routinely disclose personal information to third parties except where this is reasonably necessary to operate the studio, deliver a project, administer the business, or comply with the law.

This may include service providers used for email, cloud storage, document creation, banking, accounting, website hosting and other business administration.

Where external suppliers or production partners need information to provide an agreed service, we only share information that is reasonably necessary for that purpose.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, accounting, tax and professional requirements.

Some project records may therefore be retained after a project has finished where they are required for accounting, tax, contractual, legal or legitimate business record-keeping purposes.

Security

We take reasonable organisational and technical steps to protect personal information against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or misuse.

Access to business information is limited to the people, accounts and services reasonably required to operate Working Copy Studio.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights in relation to your personal information. These can include rights to request access to your information, have inaccurate information corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, and receive certain information in a portable format.

Some rights only apply in particular circumstances and may be subject to legal exceptions.

If you have concerns about how your information is handled, you also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.

The Working Copy website may load services or resources provided by external technology providers, including font services used to display the site's typography.

Some suppliers used by Working Copy Studio may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this applies, we take reasonable steps to use suppliers and arrangements that provide appropriate safeguards for personal information.
